Membership is open to any individual, corporate body, or local group who supports our aims. Our rules state that one share of £1 has to be purchased. We may also charge a subscription for membership in due course, but for 2013-2014, apart from a £1 share, membership will be free. All you need to do is fill in a simple form here.
Groups and organisations wanting to join need to complete the same form, and send a letter naming an individual who will represent and vote for the group or organisation.
What do I get from Membership?
Members have a vote at General Meetings, Annual General Meetings and Extraordinary Meetings. They can stand for election to the Board. We will also put members at the front of the queue, alongside local communities hosting schemes, when we issue share offers. See more about this under “Invest in Share Offers”.
Members will receive a password to access a “Members Only” Area of this website, and this will offer the additional value of access to resources and information not yet in the public domain.
We can’t offer any interest payments on your £1 share held as member – put simply, the administration costs would be too high. If you decide to leave though, the Board (at its discretion) will refund shares over the value of £10.
