|Carmarthenshire Energy: generating and saving energy for the benefit of our communities.||
Biomass is typically wood, either as logs, energy crops such as short rotation coppiced willow or miscanthus (elephant grass), or processed wood fuels such as woodchip or pellets, burned to create space and / or water heating.
At a community scale, this is relevant to management of local woodlands to produce logs for domestic woodburning stoves, or to community or district heating schemes.
For a brief introduction to biomass projects, see opposite.
We don’t currently have any biomass projects, please contact us to suggest any potential or for an update.
